File Nesing in VSCode

not yet implemented, but can be simulated

Hide all files with the same base name except for one with a specific extension.

Simulate File Nesting in VSCode similar to Webstorm

It’s not realy the same, but your file explorer view wil be much cleaner. For example: if you work with Sass files you usually won’t see the related transpiled CSS files.

  1. Open VSCode Settings ( for example with keyboard shortcut Ctrl + , )
  2. Click the Workspace Tab
  3. Search for ‘JSON: Schemas’
  4. Click ‘edit in settings.json’

Insert the following code

    "files.exclude": {
        "**/*.css": { "when": "$(basename).scss"}
    }

Save the settings.json file.
